I
worked in Corporate America for many years. The
later part of those years were spent in the computer
field in the airline industry. With the stress and
pressures of everyday deadlines from over 455 different
airlines, I was looking for a way to decompress.
A friend insisted I take up a hobby or do something
totally different to channel my energies in a different
direction. I had always wanted to learn how to work
with stained glass and embellish my creative side.
I soon found a local college that offered continuing
education classes in stained glass at night. I jumped
at the chance to try my hand at the art medium. I
quickly found myself thinking ahead about the next
project I wanted to create even before I finished
the current one. The more I read and studied this
amazing art form the more I wanted to become really
good at it. I wanted to push the envelope a bit so
I decided to try my hand at creating a Tiffany Reproduction
lamp. I quickly learned that much more skill and
thought would be needed to accomplish this. I searched
diligently to find a professional lamp maker with
whom I could continue to learn and gain valuable
experience. Fortunately, I found such a professional
lamp maker and flew across the country to train under
his direction. That was by far the best decision
I have made in my lamp making career. Having the
opportunity to train and learn the art of making
Tiffany lamps with a person of his caliber has indeed
cut years off my learning curve. I can offer my clients
the best Tiffany Reproduction lamps made today at
very affordable price points.
What started out as a hobby has quickly turned into
a lifelong passion. This passion of creativity I take
very seriously with the goal of being able to create
a lasting work of art that will be passed down through
generations of families. I know that my lamps are
viewed by many people and I want my clients to be
captivated by the beauty of each hand cut piece of
glass each and every time they look at them.
If Louis Comfort Tiffany were alive today, I would
want him to look at my lamps and be proud of my work
and the legacy he left behind for an artist like me
to follow in his footsteps.
I take enormous pride in my work and my reputation.
If my client is not happy, my work is not complete
until they are. Each lamp is constructed by starting
with a 2ft. x 3ft. sheet of the finest Tiffany Reproduction
glass made today. Each piece of glass used is then
cut by hand, wrapped in an adhesive backed copper
foil then soldered together. Once the creation of
the lamp is completed I then apply several coats
of copper plating and green patina to add an air
of ageless beauty and sophistication. The entire
lamp is then waxed to seal in this patination process.
It is then professionally packed and readied for
shipment to the owner.
I have over 85 different styles of lamps to choose
from and will custom create any color pallet to suit
your personal taste and desire. I offer over 130 different
lamp bases from which to choose that will compliment
your shade. If you too would like to discuss owning
one of these timeless works of art, please see my "contact"
section. |
